Inside Sales / Counter Person

Alder Auto Parts, an automotive and industrial parts supplier in the Surrey/Fraser Valley area has an opening for a full time experienced inside sales/counter person for our Aldergrove and Surrey locations. An understanding of both the automotive aftermarket and light industrial market is an asset. This is a fast paced environment suitable for a team player who is flexible, organized and has a strong attention to detail.
Job Duties
- Provide counter/telephone sales and exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers
- Use both computer and paper catalogues to find parts for customers
- Promote parts sales by suggesting related items
- Determine correct parts numbers and “pick” parts for orders received
- Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required
- Help maintain orderly parts stock, assist with putting away incoming orders on occasion
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Experience in a parts-related role, ideally in a light industrial or automotive environment
- Strong computer skills
- Must possess a valid BC drivers’ license
- Exceptional customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a strong attention to detail
- Able to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Weight handling of up to 50 lbs. required

Parts Pickup and Delivery Driver
Full time & Part time positions available

Alder Auto Parts has an opening for full time and part-time parts pickup and delivery drivers. This position entails driving a company provided vehicle to delivery orders to customers and pick up orders from vendor warehouses.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate deliveries from the Alder branch location to Alder customers
- Verify orders and delivery locations prior to leaving the Alder branch location
- Verify product picked up at the vendor location
- Work with the branch shipper/receiver and counter staff to ensure a high level of customer service
- Drive a company vehicle to pick up and deliver orders in a safe and timely manner
- Maintain daily vehicle logs
- Regular sanitizing of delivery vehicle
- Assist with putting stock orders away when there are no deliveries
- Assist with clean up when there are no deliveries
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Clean drivers abstract preferred
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and requirements
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Time management and problem solving skills
